Pom-Pom Caterpillar Craft and Leaf Template

Make a soft pom-pom caterpillar and give it a paper leaf to sit on. The printable provides the leaf shapes for this craft.

What you’ll need

The leaf template, green paper, pom-poms, craft glue, scissors, a hole punch, a green marker, and googly eyes or paper eyes.

How to make it

1. Print the leaf template and trace a leaf onto green paper. Cut it out and punch a few holes around the edges to look like bite marks.

2. Draw leaf veins with a green marker. Glue several pom-poms side by side to make the caterpillar and let them dry.

3. Add eyes to the front pom-pom, then glue the caterpillar onto its leaf. Let all the glue dry before moving it.

A little extra fun

Use different pom-pom colors to practice patterns. Supervise young children with the small pieces.

Printing tips

Check the print preview and print one test copy before preparing a group set. Plain paper is useful for tracing patterns; cardstock makes sturdier cutouts and standing crafts. An adult can help with small pieces and tricky cuts.
