Quilled Seahorse Craft

Decorate a paper seahorse with colorful coils for a textured ocean craft.

What you’ll need

Colored paper, white paper, quilling strips, a slotted quilling tool, glue, scissors, a pencil, and a black marker.

How to make your craft

1. Cut the seahorse body, belly, and eye using the template, then glue the eye onto the head.

2. Roll paper strips into loose coils and glue their ends. Pinch some coils at three points to make triangles.

3. Glue triangles along the spiked back edge and coils onto the belly piece. Attach the belly to the body and draw a smile.

Top tips

Use small dabs of glue and let the coils dry flat. Shape a few coils to fit the narrow ends of the belly.

Printing tips

Check the print preview and use Fit to Page if an edge is clipped. Print one test copy before preparing a group set. An adult can help with scissors and small pieces.
