Paper Bag Owl Puppet

Make a wide-eyed owl puppet from a lunch bag and simple paper shapes.

What you’ll need

A small paper lunch bag, paper, scissors, craft glue, a pencil, and a black marker. Use colored craft paper or color the template pieces yourself.

How to use your printable

1. Print the template and cut or trace the pieces onto your chosen paper colors.

2. Attach the face shape to the head, then add the eyes and beak.

3. Cover the bag front with paper. Glue the head onto the folded bottom flap, add the feet below, and attach the wings at the sides.

A little extra fun

Try a woodland story or let children invent a colorful owl character of their own.

Printing tips

Print a test copy and check the pieces against your paper bag before preparing a group set. Leave the bag flap and opening free of glue. An adult can help with smaller pieces and scissors.
