Paper Bag Monkey Puppet

Create a monkey puppet with a curly tail and a friendly face for an afternoon of storytelling.

What you’ll need

A small paper lunch bag, paper, scissors, craft glue, a pencil, and a black marker. Use colored craft paper or color the template pieces yourself.

How to use your printable

1. Print the template and prepare the pieces in shades of brown with pink details, or color the printed shapes.

2. Build the ears and attach them to the head with the hair. Add the face, eyes, and cheeks, then draw the mouth and nose.

3. Cover the front of the bag with paper. Glue on the belly and tail, and attach the finished head to the folded bottom flap.

A little extra fun

Keep glue away from the bag opening so little hands can slide inside once it is dry.

Printing tips

Print a test copy and check the pieces against your paper bag before preparing a group set. Leave the bag flap and opening free of glue. An adult can help with smaller pieces and scissors.
