Earth Day Bookmark Craft

Make paper Earth, tree, flower, and recycling-symbol bookmarks for a little planet-friendly reading time.

What you’ll need

Colored paper or crayons, the template, scissors, glue, a pencil, a black marker, and craft sticks.

How to make it

1. Print the template and trace the pieces onto colored paper, or color the printed shapes before cutting.

2. For the Earth, glue the land shapes onto the circle and add the face. Layer the flower pieces with the stem, and join the tree canopy pieces to the trunk.

3. Attach each finished shape to a craft stick and let the glue dry before using it to mark a page.

A little extra fun

Back the paper shapes with cardstock if you would like sturdier bookmarks.

Printing tips

Check the print preview and print one test copy before preparing a group set. Plain paper is useful for tracing patterns; cardstock makes sturdier cutouts and standing crafts. An adult can help with small pieces and tricky cuts.
