Reindeer Bookmark Craft

Make a reindeer with a scarf and hugging legs that keep your place in a holiday book.

What you’ll need

The printable template, colored paper, a pencil, scissors, craft glue, and a black marker. Cardstock works well for a sturdy bookmark or backing strip.

This one-page PDF contains the pattern pieces for the craft. Use it to trace shapes onto colored paper, or color the printed pieces before cutting them out.

Make your bookmark

1. Trace and cut the pieces from brown, tan, and colored paper. Assemble the ears, antlers, nose, mouth area, and belly.

2. Attach the face pieces and ears to the head, draw the eyes and mouth, then join the head to the body and add the scarf.

3. Glue only the outer ends of the front legs to the sides of the body, pointing them inward. Keep the rest loose and draw the hooves.

A little extra fun

Once dry, slide a page between the body and the two front legs.

Printing and crafting tips

Print one test copy and check the size against your book before preparing a group set. Keep the bookmark flat, let all glue dry before using it, and ask an adult to help with small pieces or tricky cuts.
