Roll and Draw a Monster

Roll a die and build a silly monster drawing one feature at a time.

What you’ll need

Paper, pencil, coloring supplies, and a six-sided die; scissors and glue or tape if making the printable die.

Your printable

Eight pages with color and black-and-white feature charts, instructions and dice templates, plus monster drawing cards.

How to use your printable

1. Print a feature chart and drawing cards. Use your own die or cut, fold, and assemble the included one.

2. Roll once for each row of the chart, adding the matching body, arms, legs, face, horns, and extras to your drawing.

3. Color your finished monster and give it a name. Roll again to create a different character.

Top tips

Let children interpret the shapes in their own way. The fun is in how different the monsters turn out.

Printing tips

Select only the pages you need and check the print preview. Print at Actual Size or 100%; use Fit to Page if an edge is clipped. Print one test copy before preparing a group set.
