Paper Bag Eagle Puppet

Turn a lunch bag into a bald eagle puppet for animal stories, pretend play, or a patriotic craft.

What you’ll need

A small paper lunch bag, paper, scissors, craft glue, a pencil, and a black marker. Use colored craft paper or color the template pieces yourself.

How to use your printable

1. Print the template, then color and cut the pieces or trace them onto colored paper. Brown, white, and yellow work well.

2. Assemble the face with its eyes and beak, and glue the smaller wing pieces onto the larger wings.

3. Cover the bag front with brown paper. Add the neck feathers, feet, and wings, then glue the head to the folded bottom flap.

A little extra fun

Keep the flap free to move and let the glue dry before putting your hand inside the bag.

Printing tips

Print a test copy and check the pieces against your paper bag before preparing a group set. Leave the bag flap and opening free of glue. An adult can help with smaller pieces and scissors.
