Paper Bag Lion Puppet

Make a cheerful lion puppet with a paper mane, swishy tail, and a lunch bag body.

What you’ll need

A small paper lunch bag, paper, scissors, craft glue, a pencil, and a black marker. Use colored craft paper or color the template pieces yourself.

How to use your printable

1. Print and cut the template pieces, using them as patterns for yellow, orange, and pink paper or coloring them directly.

2. Assemble the tail and its tip. Add the inner ears and forehead details to the head, glue the head onto the mane, and draw a face.

3. Cover the bag front with paper and add the belly, paws, and tail. Attach the finished head to the folded bottom flap.

A little extra fun

Choose a name for your lion and let it tell a short story after the glue has dried.

Printing tips

Print a test copy and check the pieces against your paper bag before preparing a group set. Leave the bag flap and opening free of glue. An adult can help with smaller pieces and scissors.
