Paper Bag Penguin Puppet

Make a penguin puppet with a round belly and little flippers for winter stories and animal-themed play.

What you’ll need

A small paper lunch bag, paper, scissors, craft glue, a pencil, and a black marker. Use colored craft paper or color the template pieces yourself.

How to use your printable

1. Print the template and cut the pieces from colored paper, or color the printed pieces. Try black, white, orange, and pink.

2. Glue the face onto the head, then add the eyes, beak, and cheeks.

3. Cover the bag front with black paper. Add the belly, feet, and flippers, then attach the head to the folded bottom flap.

A little extra fun

Let the glue dry fully before opening the bag and trying out your penguin’s voice.

Printing tips

Print a test copy and check the pieces against your paper bag before preparing a group set. Leave the bag flap and opening free of glue. An adult can help with smaller pieces and scissors.
