Build an Astronaut Craft

Build a little space explorer with this cut-and-paste astronaut craft. Kids can use the ready-colored pieces or decorate their own spacesuit before assembling the astronaut.

A two-page PDF with one colored template and one black-and-white template. Each page includes a helmet, body, two arms, two legs, and a small assembled example.

How to use it

1. Print the version you want to use. The black-and-white page is ready for coloring.
2. Color the pieces before cutting them out, then cut along the dashed outlines. Help younger children with scissors.
3. Arrange the helmet, body, arms, and legs using the small astronaut as a guide. Glue the pieces onto a backing sheet and let them dry.

Try adding your finished astronaut to a hand-drawn space scene. Children can give their astronaut a name and tell a short story about the mission.

Printing tips

Print in portrait orientation and check the preview before printing. Use “Fit to printable area” if the border is clipped. Regular printer paper works well; cardstock is an option for a sturdier finished project.
